Ground Floor
Standing out against the backdrop of the Chicago skyline, it’s obvious that by the standards of most of the cities buildings, the Van Ross Agency building is a new-build with more metal and glass than bricks and mortar. A large courtyard, filled with potted plants, stands before the main doors which lead to the Agency’s reception area; the best place to begin should you require the services of the Van Ross Agency. First Floor
This could be considered "The Grunt Floor" as it is home for the people that go out and do the dirty work: The Agents and the Liaisons. It's a relatively busy floor with people milling about their offices, the cafeteria, or the briefing rooms. This is also the floor with the dreaded Interview Rooms, where the gloves come off and the criminals, more often than not, confess all their misdeeds. Second Floor
Probably the quietest floor of the agency, the only noise you might hear is the sound of a specialist having strong words with an intern about the taste of their coffee or on matters of incorrect filing. The atmosphere is a lot calmer up here, with people focusing more on research, mostly leaving their co-workers to their business, until, of course, someone needs a favour or a second opinion. Third Floor
Home to the head honchos of the Van Ross Agency, this is the floor everyone dreads heading to. It's not uncommon for someone to go to this floor feeling one way only to return feeling completely different. Due to it being the highest floor of the Agency it's the brightest floor during the day, and security might be less common but they're just as diligent. Administrative Offices - Roof

Basement
The more futuristic of the different levels, the Basement is home to the scientists and crime scene investigators. It's also one of the most protected of the levels with numerous identity scans and security checks required to get anything done. There are two ways of entering the Basement: the stairs and the elevator. CSI Lab - Evidence Lock-up

North Michigan Avenue
Containing just a fraction of the sparkling lights of Chicago, this strip of concrete is commonly known as the "Magnificent Mile". Rightfully so, this is simply a vacation in just eight spectacular blocks. Hundreds of shops, restaurants, and hotels, not to mention multiple modes of transportation. Downtown is compact, but surely North Michigan Avenue is big enough for the crowds. Vulture & Jam - The Orchid Lounge - The Melting Pot Broadway in Chicago - Shopping District - The Talbott Hotel

The University of Chicago
A university designed in the middle of a big city, the campus is parted into sections by streets, traffic lights, and right turns only. Though many inhabitants are students, visitors, employees, and professors are scattered throughout the campus. Parties occur nightly, loud music booming out of dorms until midnight, when everyone migrates to local residences to continue until sunrise. The Quadrangles - Dormitories - Stagg Field

Brewed Awakenings
Stationed just across the street from the University of Chicago, Brewed Awakenings will surely get your blood flowing. A cup of coffee goes a long way, whether it's the start of the day or the fuel to stay up all night. Desks and cubicles offer privacy to students who wish to study, even lockable rooms for groups. At least, they're meant for study. Employees are generally friendly and helpful, though the occasional bad apple might be having a bad day, so you never know.

Chicago Waterfront
While a skyscraper is just a handful of miles away from the shore, the Chicago Waterfront is surely a sight to see. Boats line the docks of the Marina, while groups of people hurry to the beach to catch some sun. Parks are abundant, and even the patches of green along sidewalks and pathways are appealing to the eye. Entertainment is but around the corner, and you're definitely going to run into a friendly face one way or another. Hopefully. The Marina - Navy Pier - Beachfront - Main Street

Lincoln Park
Designated Chicago's largest park, there's enough room to fit a zoo, an outdoor theatre, even a pond of its own, not to mention boating facilities for the lakefront. Its recreational facilities include 15 baseball areas, 6 basketball courts, 2 softball courts, 35 tennis courts, 163 volley ball courts, field houses, and a golf course. It can be considered the ultimate Hide-n-Go-Seek playground. Lakefront - Zoo - Dog Park - Wired

Mercy Hospital & Medical Center
This medical facility is full of sarcastic, under appreciated nurses and over-stressed assistants, which makes it obvious why the emergency room is always full. Patients sometimes die while waiting for treatment, but with a lack in government funding, there is little that can be done for it. Without health insurance, any prospective patients shouldn't bother walking in.

The Good Shepherd
One of the most prized gems of Chicago, this Roman Catholic church is the pride of its followers. Run by Reverend McMatthews, the church holds daily mass at 8AM sharp. It'll be a feat to conquer when trying to pay attention to mass, as the ornate decorations of the church will capture the amazement of any occupant. Confessionals are open for any and all who need it.

The Chicago 'L' As the third-busiest rail mass transit system in the United States, the Chicago 'L' subway system is the one way to get from one part of the city to the other. A station list is posted inside, so any posts in this forum has no location limit. Whether it's on a train or waiting on the platform for one, there's always a crowd of people to bump into by accident. Try to avoid the homeless people with crazy stories.

Residences
Whatever it is that you call home, chances are most find it here. Spread throughout the city of Chicago, residences reflect any kind of salary, from a small, one-room apartment, to full, long flats, to houses of large proportion. Houses in every shape, size, and color, along with a variety of neighborhood violence at every corner. Though you can't escape crime, you can hopefully escape the workplace. Around the World Want to get away? There are many places to choose from, such as the neighboring Canada or Mexico. There's also a jump over the pond to Europe and Mediterranean, or a flight to Africa and all that it is. There's still the hustle and bustle of Asia, from the small island of Japan, the huge land of China, and the dense population of India. There's still the land down under, Australia. Wherever your fancy, including Antarctica or South America, you'll be sure to find it here.

Backstories
There's always a moment in the past we wish we could re-live, right? Well, now it's possible for your characters. In this forum you can create threads that happened more than three months in the past. Threads cannot be made with one solitary character, unless it is a single, long post. Don't make a habit of these kinds of threads, though.

Set in present-day rule of Barack Obama, the streets run wild with crime around every corner. In the mean time there's an agency working to change that. Rooted in the city lights of Chicago, there's a murder that needs solving and a criminal who should to be behind bars. So, what are you; a mastermind for evil or the saint who cleans it up?
